Bonjour!
My name is Séverine and I was born in France in the beautiful district of Les Yvelines where I lived for about 20 years and regularly go back to visit my family in north and south of France.
I have always been interested in the French language and teaching in general. I have taught privately for the last 20 years giving grinds to all ages and for different purposes, working for myself or for others or just providing a helping hand. Recently I decided to turn my hobby – yes it is a hobby for me to teach French! – into a small business.
But being French is not enough, you need to understand the learning process and above all master the language inside-out. Coming from the principle that one can always improve his knowledge and thinking that my French Baccalauréat (majoring in French and Languages) was not enough. I undertook a Master of Arts in French with the University of Limerick and ended up doing some research there for about 2 years working for the Director of the Centre for Applied Language Studies. This led to the publication of the Chambers-Rostand Corpus of Journalistic French for the University of Oxford. Just in case you wonder… Rostand is my maiden name!
I love helping people with their understanding and appreciation of French. This is a beautiful language but not always easy to get into. I would love the opportunity to help you fall in love with this language and develop your skills.
Get in touch now and let me know what help you need.
To your success!
Amitiés,
Séverine
